The world market for Tissue Culture in 1989, was 439 million plantlets, worth $ 65 million. This market, growing at the rate of 20% per annurn is expected to reach a size of 750 million plantlets by 1995 valued at $ 135 million, The major consumption of tissue culture plants is in Western Europe and North America.

The facilities :

To exploit the technological advantages of tissue culture the Company has built its own tissue culture lab with indigenous technology. 5000 sft for tissue culture rooms 2000 sft of glass house and 3000 sft of media preparation, inoculation and culture rooms. The lab has the capacity to produce 2 million plantlets of international quality.

 

The Company has developed protocols for the following:

Horticulture plants : strawberry, grapes, bananas.

Ornamental plants : syngonium, spathyphylum, ficus, dieffenbachia, philodendron and cordyline.

Flowering plants : orchids, chrysanthemums, carnation and gerbera.
